This past year, Iris Dynamics developed new interface modules, contributed to life changing research projects, participated in global trade shows and redefines what smart actuation looks like. High-performance linear motion does not need to be complex, with a tightly integrated all-in-one design, robust IP68 rating enhancing durability and ruggedness, ORCA™ Motors offer a simple solution to complex challenges.
PWM Interface: Enhanced Control & Customization
In January, Iris Dynamics released a PWM (pulse-width modulation) control interface allows for rapid and straightforward integration for mobile robotics and remote control retrofits, with widely adopted Remote Control (RC) PWM. This approach requires no coding, minimal wiring, and integration time. With a USB Windows configuration GUI, ORCA motors ensure quick and hassle-free development and deployment of your solution.
Throughout the year Iris Dynamics worked on an ORCA motor powered active spring damping platform to advance the research of the National Research Council (NRC), Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and Carleton University. A project that studied the impacts of whole-body vibration, noise, and movement during ground neonatal transport, and new technologies to mitigate the stressors of the transport itself. Iris Dynamics' RAVEN-6DoF platform solution's spring damping was used to advance this research with a goal of developing and validating technologies capable of simulating and responding to the complex, multidirectional motion profiles encountered during neonatal ground transport.

Automate 2025 May 12-15 Iris Dynamics exhibited at Automate 2025 in Detroit, MI. This year at our booth, we gave attendees a hands-on experience with our force feedback demo station, highlighting the ORCA's four different modes of operation. We presented our latest force sensing demo, the Mini-RAVEN, and helped to optimize current systems with our pneumatic replacement demo. Our product lineup of ORCA™ Series Smart Linear Motors is a high-performance solution, boasting force and position sensing, full integration, low maintenance, and affordability. |
PDX 2025 October 20-21 2025, Iris Dynamics exhibited at the Product Development Expo (PDC) 2025, a hands-on practical training engineering exposition in Phoenix, Arizona. Attendees were encouraged to bring their design and manufacturing challenges to the show, and we were happy to troubleshoot in real time, review designs, and collaborate on effective solutions to accelerate development.
