In August 2025, Iris Dynamics visited the quietest measured environment on Earth: Orfield Laboratories in Minneapolis, to test just how quiet ORCA motors are. During multiple tests under ISO controlled conditions, the ORCA motor was measured barely above the sound floor at less than 15 decibels (dB).
