Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing technical support to our customers, ensuring they achieve optimal performance with our linear actuator products. This position involves extensive customer interaction, developing training materials, and offering hands-on support. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, particularly in C++, MATLAB, Labview, PLCs, motion control systems, and git, coupled with excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for our linear actuator products.
  • Assist customers with product integration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide pre-sales technical assistance.

Training and Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive training collateral, including manuals, tutorials, and webinars.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and internal teams on the use and maintenance of our products.

Product Development:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on product performance and customer requirements.
  • Participate in the development and testing of new product features and enhancements.

Customer Service:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services.
  • Provide prompt and effective solutions to customer inquiries and issues.

Technical Writing:

  • Create clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, including user guides, application notes, and technical articles.

Project Management:

  • Manage and prioritize multiple customer projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the motion control or automation industry.
  • Proficiency in C++, MATLAB, Labview, PLCs, and motion control systems.
  • Experience with version control systems such as git.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customers on-site.
  • Candidates must be living in the Greater Victoria area and able to commute to the company office.

Work Hours / Location:

  • Flexible schedule required to accommodate global business operations; specifics will be discussed with potential candidates.
  • This position is in-person at our office in Victoria 

 

Salary Range:

  • $50,000 - $60,000

Production Technician

The Job:

We are seeking Production Technicians who will provide support in the production of proprietary state-of-the-art electromagnetic technologies. As part of our team, you will assemble, test, document, package, and ship our line of magnetic linear motors and virtual reality motion platforms to various customers around the globe.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing work orders at a variety of stations involving part fabrication and electromechanical assembly including soldering, crimping, and cutting of metal components
  • Taking and recording measurements with various tools (calipers, multimeters, torque wrenches.)
  • Carry out QA/QC procedures 
  • Assembling small components
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, repair, and testing including long periods of sitting/standing, lifting, and bending
  • Help maintain supplies and equipment, including keeping the shop a clean, organized, and safe working environment
  • Help to ensure adherence to ISO standard processes
  • Safe handling and use of various chemicals and hazardous substances (epoxies, cleaners, lubricants, etc)
  • Pack and prepare product for shipments to clients
  • Identify and fix small problems before they become big ones
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be living in the Greater Victoria area and able to commute to the company office.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a reliable employee in a similar position.

 

Required Skills:

  • Aptitude for repetitive, detail-oriented work with extremely high attention to detail
  • Strong mechanical intuition
  • Interest in working with your hands
  • Ability to stay focused and follow instructions
  • Team player with good interpersonal and multicultural skills
  • Positive attitude and professional manner
  • Soldering experience and skill with small power tools considered an asset
  • Relevant experience building and maintaining mechanical and/or electromechanical devices considered an asset
  • Attention to detail & the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to think on your feet and find solutions to problems
  • Fastidious neatness and commitment to keeping workstations clean and organized
  • Manual dexterity required for the safe operation of machinery and tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
  • Computer literate; familiar with MS Windows, Word, Excel, Google, etc.
